Nine year old Murray Murray is discovering his sexuality in the era of disco and leisure suits. He has a crush on sixteen year old Deidre, whose younger sister believes herself to be Murray's girlfriend. He also must deal with, among other things, the noisome, nightly lovemaking of his swinger parents.

This documentary directed by Neil Abramson examines the rise and fall, as well as the reach and long-lasting effects, of religious zealot Joseph Kony in northern Uganda. For years, Kony exerted his influence on thousands of children, encouraging them not only to turn against their friends and families but to play an active role in their destruction. When the children's misdeeds come to light, the Ugandans take initiative in bringing on healing.

In 1908, lonely middle-aged spinster Janet reluctantly bids farewell to a young relative, a schoolboy, who has spent a brief holiday with her. Janet, who is the author of children's adventure stories, longs for the company of children, and one day is surprised to see a little girl playing in her garden. The child is hungry and inadequately clothed, and Janet takes her into the house, determined to keep her. The next day the police enquire throughout the neighbourhood and call at Janet's house. She conceals the fact that she is hiding the child. Later, the local parson calls and tells Janet that Mrs. Star, a widow and the mother of the missing Sally, is not only heart-nroken but a very sick woman.

This movie was incredibly touching. The story revolves around a young girl "Em" (played by Laura Goodwin). The movie opens with the image of a small, close knit family. Almost at once we are made aware that Emily's father (played by James Fox) is a diplomat whose demanding job barely allows him time to give attention to his wife (played by Twiggy) and of course his daughter Emily. As expected Emily's mother "Fen" soon begins to have an affair and thus begins the child's torment. The movie is poignant in the way it deals with this very real issue. We are given the impression of divorce and the very real adult problems occurring in marriage through the eyes of a young child and the picture painted is not a pretty one. It brings forth awareness, especially to adult viewers, and is a definite must see for all families. I personally found Laura Goodwin's acting to be both intense and innocent, and it was a delight to see such intensity in one so young. A definite thumbs up for this movie!!
